The Verein für Grossveranstaltungen des Leichtathletik-Club Zürich (VfG/LCZ) is the support association of Weltklasse Zürich. Founded in 1983 by members of the Zurich trackclub LCZ, the associationhas helped the meeting's organization to keep pace with the rapid developments and the commercializationin athletics. Profitsgenerated by the event are primarily investedto support both popular and professionalathletics projects of the LCZ.

The VfG/LCZ is a member of Pro Sport Stadt Zürich and of Swiss Top Sport, two committed to improve the general environment for sports events.
